4. Where and How to Apply? (The Steps)

The application process has two main stages that you must complete.

Stage 1: The Entrance Exam Application (CUET UG)

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the official CUET UG website (managed by NTA)- https://cuet.nta.nic.in/
  2. Register: Create an account using your email and phone number.
  3. Fill the Form: Enter your personal details and education history.
  4. Select Courses/Papers: This is the most crucial step! You select the subject paper code (e.g., 304 for  Biology) that matches the UG course you want to pursue..
  5. Pay the Fee: Submit the application fee online.
  6. Receive Admit Card: The NTA will give you an Admit Card to take the test on the scheduled date.

Stage 2: The University Counselling Application (After Results)

This is the part everyone forgets! Your CUET UG score alone does NOT guarantee admission-

  1. Wait for Results: Once the CUET UG results are out (your scorecard), you will know your score.
  2. Apply Separately to Universities: You must individually visit the website of each university you are interested in (e.g., Delhi University’s admission portal, JNU’s portal, etc.).
  3. Register for Counselling: You must fill out a separate application/counselling form on each university’s website using your CUET UG score. This is where they consider your score.
  4. Seat Allotment: The universities will release merit lists based on the scores of the students who applied to them and offer you a seat.
  5. Verify & Pay: You accept the seat, submit your documents for verification, and pay the admission fee to lock your place.
